Camera Safety · Readability

Camera Safety and Camera Readability are auxiliary policies that control excessive on-screen deformation. They do not directly modify the original animation Pose, Collision, or authored OverAnim intensity.

In Actor Details, the related properties are grouped under the OverAnim Camera category. The Enable Camera Readability Correction and Enable Camera Safety Limit switches appear first, followed by the Camera Readability Settings and Camera Safety Limit Settings groups for detailed values. Readability can add corrective deformation, while Safety can only reduce the current deformation.

Camera Safety Limit

Set/Get Camera Safety Limit Enabled is a safety constraint that only reduces excessive on-screen displacement. It does not create new stylized deformation; it mitigates existing results that move too far from the camera's perspective.

Camera Readability Correction

Use Set/Get Camera Readability Correction Enabled and Set/Get Camera Readability Correction Settings to control readability correction. FOverAnimViewDependentStylizationSettings includes options such as:

  • Perspective-based scale compensation
  • Minimum on-screen thickness
  • Screen-edge Fade
  • Fade-in after a Camera Cut

Per-Region View Stylization can be allowed and assigned an intensity separately in the Bone Group's Camera Readability settings. The Action Axis can be selected from Automatic, Active Response, Source Motion, Simulated Guide Motion, and Pose Chain.

Shot Override

Push Camera Readability Shot Override creates a new Override and an FOverAnimCameraReadabilityShotHandle. Pop Camera Readability Shot Override removes only the Override associated with that Handle. Clear Camera Readability Shot Overrides removes all Overrides from the current Component.

Checking in Preview

Camera Readability Preview and Camera Readability Debug in the Asset Editor Viewport Show menu display the on-screen result without changing the asset.
